The Dog ate my Wedding Album!
We are excited to have been commissioned to work on this unique project. This 45 year-old wedding album was showing some signs of wear and the images had begun to fade. The albums final demise was when the new puppy dog decided to use the album as its newest chew toy!
Back in 1974 the materials used in the wedding industry weren't tested for longevity. The acid in the paperboard pages of this wedding album had slowly caused yellowing throughout.
Photos in a wedding album (when archivally printed and mounted) typically last much longer than photos on display because they have less exposure to UV light. Harmful UV light has a cumulative effect and progressively increases deterioration and fading on anything that is not protected from it. The most exciting part of this project is the new album we will create will last much longer than the previous one ---as long as it is kept away from hungry dogs!
This type of work requires a lot of time, patience and skill, we will keep you updated as we progress.
